   1-22                                AN ACT
   1-23  relating to the registration of trailers and semitrailers.
   1-24        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
   1-25        SECTION 1.  Subsection (a), Section 2a, Chapter 88, General
   1-26  Laws, Acts of the 41st Legislature, 2nd Called Session, 1929
   1-27  (Article 6675a-2a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), is amended to
   1-28  read as follows:
   1-29        (a)  The owner of a <motor> vehicle covered by Section 1A,
   1-30  Texas Motor Vehicle Safety-Responsibility Act (Article 6701h,
   1-31  Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), other than a trailer or a
   1-32  semitrailer, shall submit with the application for registration
   1-33  under Section 3 of this Act evidence of financial responsibility
   1-34  that is currently valid.
   1-35        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-36  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-37  emergency   and   an   imperative   public   necessity   that   the
   1-38  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-39  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
