No. 502 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the printing of a statement regarding a health care 1-3 directive on the reverse side of a driver's license. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Article II, Chapter 173, Acts of the 47th 1-6 Legislature, Regular Session, 1941 (Article 6687b, Vernon's Texas 1-7 Civil Statutes), is amended by adding Section 11D to read as 1-8 follows: 1-9 Sec. 11D. HEALTH CARE DIRECTIVE STATEMENT ON REVERSE SIDE OF 1-10 LICENSE. On the reverse side of each driver's license the 1-11 Department shall print "Directive to physician for health care has 1-12 been filed" followed by a box that the holder of the license may 1-13 mark to indicate that the statement applies. 1-14 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1993. 1-15 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 1-16 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-17 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-18 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-19 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended. 1-20 COMMITTEE AMENDMENT NO. 1 1-21 Amend H.B. 502 by striking Section 1 of the bill and 1-22 substituting the following: 1-23 SECTION 1. Article II, Chapter 173, Acts of the 47th 1-24 Legislature, Regular Session, 1941 (Article 6687b, Vernon's Texas 2-1 Civil Statutes), is amended by adding Section 11D to read as 2-2 follows: 2-3 Sec. 11D.
