Section 21.308(a), Education Code, is amended to 1-27 read as follows: 1-28 (a) The governing board of any school district may employ 1-29 security personnel for use in any school within its district when 1-30 the board in its discretion determines that the personnel are 1-31 necessary. If the governing board authorizes the security 1-32 personnel to carry a weapon, the security personnel must be 1-33 commissioned peace officers. 1-34 SECTION 2.
