Section 194.017, Local Government Code, is 1-26 amended to read as follows: 1-27 Sec. 194.017. DISPOSAL OF ORIGINALS. The commissioners 1-28 court of a county may authorize by order the disposal of an 1-29 original paper record from which a microfilm or an optical image 1-30 record is made if the county clerk certifies to the court that: 1-31 (1) the original negative microfilm of the record 1-32 fully meets the requirements of the American National Standards 1-33 Institute for archival quality, density, resolution, and 1-34 definition; or 1-35 (2) the optical image of the record meets the 1-36 standards approved by the Texas State Library and Archives 1-37 Commission. 1-38 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-39 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-40 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-41 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-42 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-43 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-44 passage, and it is so enacted. 1-45 * * * * * 1-46 Austin, 1-47 Texas 1-48 May 20, 1993 1-49 Hon.
