   1-21                         A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
   1-22                                AN ACT
   1-23  relating to the procedures applicable to the registration of motor
   1-24  vehicles.
   1-25        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
   1-26        SECTION 1.  Subsection (g), Section 2a, Chapter 88, General
   1-27  Laws, Acts of the 41st Legislature, 2nd Called Session, 1929
   1-28  (Article 6675a-2a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), is amended to
   1-29  read as follows:
   1-30        (g)  The county, the county tax collector, a deputy county
   1-31  tax collector, and any person acting for or on behalf of a county
   1-32  or county tax collector, or a person acting on behalf of the owner
   1-33  for purposes of obtaining registration to the vehicle are not
   1-34  liable to any person for registering a motor vehicle under this
   1-35  section.
   1-36        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-37  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-38  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-39  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-40  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   1-41  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   1-42  passage, and it is so enacted.
