    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to the inspection of certain electronic products under the
    1-3  Texas Radiation Control Act.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Section 401.064,  Health and Safety Code, is
    1-6  amended by adding Subsections (d)-(f) to read as follows:
    1-7        (d)  The board by rule shall require a person who inspects
    1-8  medical, podiatric medical, dental, veterinary, or chiropractic
    1-9  electronic products to have special training in the design and uses
   1-10  of the products.
   1-11        (e)  The department shall conduct inspections of medical,
   1-12  podiatric medical, dental, veterinary, and chiropractic electronic
   1-13  products in a manner designed to cause as little disruption of a
   1-14  medical, podiatric medical, dental, veterinary, or chiropractic
   1-15  practice as is practicable.
   1-16        (f)  In adopting rules under this section relating to the
   1-17  inspection of medical, podiatric medical, dental, veterinary, and
   1-18  chiropractic electronic products, the board shall solicit and
   1-19  follow the recommendations of the State Board of Dental Examiners
   1-20  for the inspections of dental electronic products, the Texas State
   1-21  Board of Podiatry Examiners for the inspection of podiatric medical
   1-22  electronic products, the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners for
   1-23  the inspection of medical electronic products, the  Texas State
   1-24  Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners for the inspection of medical
    2-1  electronic products used in the practice of veterinary medicine,
    2-2  and the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners for the inspection of
    2-3  chiropractic electronic products, unless in conflict with federal
    2-4  statutes or federal rules.
    2-5        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
    2-6  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
    2-7  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
    2-8  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
    2-9  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   2-10  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   2-11  passage, and it is so enacted.
