No. 781 By: Ellis 1-19 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-20 AN ACT 1-21 relating to the inspection of certain electronic products under the 1-22 Texas Radiation Control Act. 1-23 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-24 SECTION 1. Section 401.064, Health and Safety Code, is 1-25 amended by adding Subsections (d)-(f) to read as follows: 1-26 (d) The board by rule shall require a person who inspects 1-27 medical, dental, veterinary or chiropractic electronic products to 1-28 have special training in the design and uses of the products. 1-29 (e) The department shall conduct inspections of medical, 1-30 dental, veterinary and chiropractic electronic products in a manner 1-31 designed to cause as little disruption of a medical, dental, 1-32 veterinary or chiropractic practice as is practicable. 1-33 (f) In adopting rules under this section relating to the 1-34 inspection of medical, dental, veterinary and chiropractic 1-35 electronic products, the board shall solicit and follow the 1-36 recommendations of the State Board of Dental Examiners for the 1-37 inspections of dental electronic products, the Texas State Board of 1-38 Medical Examiners for the inspection of medical electronic 1-39 products, the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners for 1-40 the inspection of medical electronic products used in the practice 1-41 of veterinary medicine, and the State Board of Chiropractic 1-42 Examiners for the inspection of chiropractic electronic products, 1-43 unless in conflict with federal statutes or federal rules. 1-44 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-45 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-46 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-47 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-48 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-49 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-50 passage, and it is so enacted. 1-51 * * * * * 1-52 Austin, 1-53 Texas 1-54 April 27, 1993 1-55 Hon.
