1-20 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-21 AN ACT
1-22 relating to the term of an agreement with a depository selected by
1-23 certain hospital districts.
1-24 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-25 SECTION 1. Sections 281.093(b) and (c), Health and Safety
1-26 Code, are amended to read as follows:
1-27 (b) If the board selects a depository in accordance with
1-28 Subsection (a)(1), the depository shall serve as the district
1-29 depository for four <two> years and until its successor is selected
1-30 and qualified.
1-31 (c) The board may extend any contract with a depository to
1-32 the next October and then select a depository for the following
1-33 four <two> years.
1-34 SECTION 2. This Act applies only to the selection of a
1-35 depository on or after the effective date of this Act. The
1-36 selection of a depository before the effective date of this Act is
1-37 governed by the law in effect immediately before the effective date
1-38 of this Act, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose.
1-39 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-40 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-41 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-42 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-43 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-44 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-45 passage, and it is so enacted.
