                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the use of revenue generated by the hotel tax by

1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-5 SECTION 1. Section 352.1033, Tax Code, is amended by adding
1-6 Subsection (b) to read as follows:
1-7 (b) A county that borders the Gulf of Mexico and that is
1-8 authorized to impose the tax by Section 352.002(a)(6) may use 50
1-9 percent or less of the revenue from the tax for the promotion of
   1-10 tourism.
1-11 SECTION 2. This Act applies only to revenue from a tax
1-12 imposed under Chapter 352, Tax Code, sent or paid to a county on or
1-13 after the effective date of this Act.
1-14 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-15 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-16 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-17 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-18 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-19 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
