   1-21                         A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
   1-22                                AN ACT
   1-23  relating to instruction in driver education courses on the dangers
   1-24  of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
   1-25        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
   1-26        SECTION 1.  Section 21.102, Education Code, is amended by
   1-27  adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
   1-28        (c)  A driver education course shall include instruction on
   1-29  the dangers and penalties of operating a motor vehicle while
   1-30  intoxicated.
   1-31        SECTION 2.  This Act applies beginning with the 1993-1994
   1-32  school year.
   1-33        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-34  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-35  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-36  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-37  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   1-38  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   1-39  passage, and it is so enacted.
