H.B. No. 1297 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to persons appointed as friend of the court in cases 1-3 involving child support or possession of or access to a child. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 14.91, Family Code, is amended by adding 1-6 Subsection (e) to read as follows: 1-7 (e) In the execution of a friend of the court's duties under 1-8 this subchapter, a friend of the court shall represent the court to 1-9 ensure compliance with the court's order. 1-10 SECTION 2. Section 14.96, Family Code, is repealed. 1-11 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 1993. 1-12 SECTION 4. The importance of this legislation and the 1-13 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-14 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-15 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-16 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
