   1-15                         A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
   1-16                                AN ACT
   1-17  relating to persons appointed as friend of the court in cases
   1-18  involving child support or possession of or access to a child.
   1-19        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
   1-20        SECTION 1.  Section 14.91, Family Code, is amended by adding
   1-21  Subsection (e) to read as follows:
   1-22        (e)  In the execution of a friend of the court's duties under
   1-23  this subchapter, a friend of the court shall represent the court to
   1-24  ensure compliance with the court's order.
   1-25        SECTION 2.  Section 14.96, Family Code, is repealed.
   1-26        SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1993.
   1-27        SECTION 4.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-28  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-29  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-30  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-31  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
