                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to a conflict of interest.
    1-3        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-4        SECTION 1.  TITLE 2, CHAPTER 11, SECTION 11.0122.  Conflict
    1-5  of Interest is repealed.
    1-6        <An employee or paid consultant of a statewide association in
    1-7  the field of conservation or outdoor recreation may not be a
    1-8  commission member or employee of the department, nor may a person
    1-9  who cohabits with or is the spouse of a managerial employee or paid
   1-10  consultant of a statewide association in the field of conservation
   1-11  or outdoor recreation be a member of the commission or an employee
   1-12  of the department grade 17 or over, including exempt employees,
   1-13  according to the position classification schedule under the General
   1-14  Appropriations Act.>
   1-15        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-16  crowded condition for the calendars in both houses create an
   1-17  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-18  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-19  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   1-20  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   1-21  passage, and it is so enacted.
