1-17 AN ACT
1-18 relating to the salary of the bailiff of the 341st District Court.
1-19 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-20 SECTION 1. Section 53.009(d), Government Code, is amended to
1-21 read as follows:
1-22 (d) The bailiff appointed by the judge of the 341st District
1-23 Court is entitled to receive a salary set by the judge in an amount
1-24 that is commensurate with the salary paid the bailiffs of other
1-25 courts with similar duties <that does not exceed the salary of a
1-26 full-time deputy sheriff of the county>. The salary is paid out of
1-27 the general fund of the county.
1-28 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1993.
1-29 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-30 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-31 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-32 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-33 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
