1-20 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-21 AN ACT
1-22 relating to certain transfers of property by a county purchasing
1-23 agent.
1-24 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-25 SECTION 1. Section 262.011(j), Local Government Code, is
1-26 amended to read as follows:
1-27 (j) To prevent unnecessary purchases, the county purchasing
1-28 agent, with the approval of the commissioners court, shall transfer
1-29 county supplies, materials, and equipment from a subdivision,
1-30 department, officer, or employee of the county that are not needed
1-31 or used to another subdivision, department, officer, or employee
1-32 requiring the supplies or materials or the use of the equipment.
1-33 The county purchasing agent shall furnish to the county auditor a
1-34 list of transferred supplies, materials, and equipment.
1-35 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
1-36 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-37 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-38 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-39 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-40 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-41 passage, and it is so enacted.
