                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to the use of a specific information logo sign by a
    1-3  commercial establishment with an off-premise sign.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Section 4.07, Chapter 741, Acts of the 67th
    1-6  Legislature, Regular Session, 1981, (Article 4477-9a, Vernon's
    1-7  Texas Civil Statutes), is amended by adding subsection (o) to read
    1-8  as follows:
    1-9        (o)  A commercial establishment is not eligible to have its
   1-10  name displayed on a specific information logo sign if the
   1-11  establishment displays its name on an off-premise sign, as defined
   1-12  by Section 2, Article 2, Chapter 221, Acts of the 69th Legislature,
   1-13  Regular Session, 1985 (Article 6674v-3, Vernon's Texas Civil
   1-14  Statutes), and its subsequent amendments, within 10 miles of the
   1-15  establishment along and intended to be viewed from the same
   1-16  interstate highway on which the specific information logo sign is
   1-17  located.  If a commercial establishment that has its name displayed
   1-18  on an off-premise sign within 10 miles of the establishment along
   1-19  and intended to be viewed from the same interstate highway on which
   1-20  the specific information logo sign is located, the contractor shall
   1-21  remove the specific information logo sign.
   1-22        SECTION 2.  This act takes effect September 1, 1993, and
   1-23  applies only to agreements with commercial establishments for space
    2-1  on a specific information logo sign that are executed or renewed on
    2-2  or after that date.
