                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to cemeteries on and owned by the Texas A&M University
    1-3  System.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 86, Education Code, is
    1-6  amended by adding Section 86.24 to read as follows:
    1-7        Section 86.24.  ESTABLISHMENT OF CEMETERY.  (A)  The Board
    1-8  may dedicate Texas A&M University land to be used and operated as a
    1-9  perpetual care cemetery.
   1-10  Section 711.008, Health and Safety Code shall not apply to a
   1-11  cemetery established under this subsection.
   1-12  (b)  The Board is hereby authorized to disinter and remove human
   1-13  remains from a cemetery established in 1901 on the campus of Texas
   1-14  A&M University and any such remains may be reinterred in a cemetery
   1-15  established under Subsection (a) of this Section 86.24.  Upon
   1-16  passage of this legislation, Sections 711.004(a)-(f), of the Texas
   1-17  Health and Safety Code, shall not apply to the disinterring and
   1-18  removal of remains authorized by this Subsection (b).
   1-19        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-20  crowded condition of the calendars of both houses create an
   1-21  emergency and an imperative public necessity that constitutional
   1-22  rule requiring bills to be read on three several days in each house
   1-23  be suspended, and that this Act take effect and be in force from
    2-1  and after its passage, and it is so entered.
