1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the conveyance of a one-acre tract of land in Panola
1-3 County, Texas, formerly used as a lookout tower site by the Texas
1-4 Forest Service.
1-5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-6 SECTION 1. In accordance with the provisions of Section
1-7 88.108(e), Education Code, the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M
1-8 University System is authorized to convey to the Texas Utilities
1-9 Mining Company in fee simple a one-acre, more or less, parcel of
1-10 land located in Panola County, which is surplus to the needs of The
1-11 Texas A&M University System. The tract is described as follows:
1-12 All that certain lot, tract, or parcel of land situated in
1-13 the County of Panola, State of Texas, being portions of the William
1-14 Hamilton Survey, A-272, and the Adam Lagrone Survey, A-391, and
1-15 also being a portion of the 13.8 acre tract conveyed by Howard
1-16 Redmon to Emma Lou Woods by deed recorded in Vol. 416, p. 283, of
1-17 the Deed Records of said County and being more particularly
1-18 described by metes and bounds as follows to wit:
1-19 BEGINNING at an iron pin #2212 for corner, Coordinate Values
1-20 (N-243,818.80, E-2,946,038.04), said iron pin being situated South
1-21 80 degrees 53 minutes East 50.82 feet from the southwest corner of
1-22 the said 13.8 acre tract.
1-23 THENCE: North 9 degrees 07 minutes East 208.71 feet to an
2-1 iron pin #2213 for corner, Coordinate Values (N-244,024.87,
2-2 E-2,946,071.11).
2-3 THENCE: South 80 degrees 53 minutes East 208.71 feet to an
2-4 iron pin #2214 for corner, Coordinate Values (N-243,991.80,
2-5 E-2,946,277.19).
2-6 THENCE: South 9 degrees 07 minutes West 208.71 feet to an
2-7 iron pin #2215 for corner, Coordinate Values (N-243,785.73,
2-8 E-2,946,244.12), same being in the south line of the said 13.8 acre
2-9 tract.
2-10 THENCE: North 80 degrees 53 minutes West along said south
2-11 line 208.71 feet to the place of beginning and containing 1.00 acre
2-12 of land.
2-13 Such conveyance is to be made on terms and conditions
2-14 acceptable to the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University
2-15 System.
2-16 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
2-17 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
2-18 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
2-19 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
2-20 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
2-21 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
2-22 passage, and it is so enacted.
