1-20 COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR H.B. No. 2647 By: Sims
1-21 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-22 AN ACT
1-23 relating to the charge and control of certain state facilities
1-24 located in Kerrville.
1-25 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-26 SECTION 1. At the time that the comptroller vacates the
1-27 comptroller's training center, located at 125 Lehmann Drive in
1-28 Kerrville, charge and control of the building and its grounds are
1-29 transferred and committed to the Railroad Commission of Texas.
1-30 While it has charge and control of the building and grounds,
1-31 the railroad commission may use the center for its purposes and
1-32 shall make the center available to other governmental entities.
1-33 The comptroller shall give reasonable notice to the railroad
1-34 commission and to the General Services Commission of the date on
1-35 which the comptroller intends to vacate the center, and on the date
1-36 that the comptroller vacates the center the comptroller shall
1-37 inform the two commissions of that fact. Each appropriate state
1-38 agency or officer shall take any action necessary to transfer
1-39 charge and control of the center to the railroad commission as
1-40 required by this Act.
1-41 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
1-42 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-43 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-44 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-45 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
