By Davila H.B. No. 2733 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the manner in which early and general election day 1-3 voting results are published by the county clerk. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 67.017 of Chapter 67 of the Elections 1-6 Code, is amended by adding: 1-7 Subsection (f) the county clerk shall publish a report which 1-8 includes all information required to be submitted to the Secretary 1-9 of States Office as well as "election day" results by election 1-10 precinct for each candidate as described in Subsection (a) of this 1-11 chapter. The report should be made available to the public at a 1-12 cost no greater that the cost incurred by the county clerk. 1-13 SECTION 2. Subchapter G of Chapter 87 of the elections code 1-14 is amended by adding: 1-15 Section 87.125. PUBLISHING OF EARLY VOTING RESULTS BY THE 1-16 COUNTY CLERK. The county clerk shall publish and make available 1-17 to the public the results from early voting. The information 1-18 published should include results for each candidate as described in 1-19 Chapter 67 Sec. 67.017(a) or measure by election precinct. The 1-20 information should be made available in the same timely manner and 1-21 in the same form as required by the Secretary of States office 1-22 early vote report as outlined in Section 87.1231 of this Section. 1-23 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 2-1 crowded conditions of the calendars on both houses create an 2-2 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 2-3 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 2-4 days in each house be suspended, and the rule is hereby suspended.
