                              HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
    1-1        WHEREAS, State law (Section 4.10, Article 601b, Vernon's
    1-2  Texas Civil Statutes) specifies those persons eligible for burial
    1-3  in the State Cemetery and authorizes the legislature to grant
    1-4  eligibility to other persons through adoption of a concurrent
    1-5  resolution; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Ronald G. Jackson, executive director of the Texas
    1-7  Youth Commission, desires to be buried in the State Cemetery; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Mr. Jackson's long and illustrious record of service
    1-9  to the State of Texas began when he joined the Texas Youth Council
   1-10  in 1965; after working at the West Texas Children's Home in Pyote,
   1-11  he became director of the Statewide Reception and Diagnostic Center
   1-12  in Brownwood in 1970 and superintendent of Brownwood State School
   1-13  the following year; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Since 1973, this dedicated and hardworking
   1-15  individual has rendered sterling service as executive director of
   1-16  the Texas Youth Commission; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Mr. Jackson continues to meet the challenges of his
   1-18  office with the same high levels of devotion, energy, and
   1-19  intelligence that have characterized his service to the state
   1-20  throughout his lengthy career; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the 73rd Legislature of the State of Texas
   1-22  hereby authorize the burial of Ronald G. Jackson in the State
   1-23  Cemetery, provided proper  application  for  assignment  of  burial
   1-24  space is made to the General Services Commission as required by
    2-1  law.
