                                 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
    1-1        WHEREAS, Kelliston Thomson McDowell is a fine young man who
    1-2  has brightened the lives of his family and many friends since his
    1-3  birth six years ago; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Kelliston is the beloved grandson of a loyal Texan,
    1-5  Bart McDowell, who has expressed concern over the circumstances of
    1-6  his grandson's birth; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, It seems, through no fault of his own, that young
    1-8  Kelliston was born in the state of California, thus causing him to
    1-9  spend his life to date without the benefits of official Texas
   1-10  citizenship; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Kelliston's father, H. K. McDowell III, also had the
   1-12  misfortune to be born outside the state; however, this situation
   1-13  was later rectified by legislative act; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, It is within the power of this body to correct this
   1-15  situation for Kelliston as well, and afford him the opportunity to
   1-16  become an honorary Texan; now, therefore, be it
   1-17        RESOLVED, That the 73rd Legislature of the State of Texas
   1-18  hereby declare Kelliston Thomson McDowell to be a naturalized Texan
   1-19  with all the privileges and perquisites accorded those individuals
   1-20  native to the Lone Star State; and, be it further
   1-21        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   1-22  prepared for Kelliston, his parents, and his grandparents as formal
   1-23  proof of his new status.
