                                 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Bartlett High School Bulldogs have ascended the
    1-2  pinnacle of success in their sport for the second time in three
    1-3  years, winning the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 1A
    1-4  football championship; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Completing the regular season with a perfect 9-0
    1-6  record, Bartlett took the field against Chilton and came away with
    1-7  a 22-15 victory; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Their second playoff contest was another hotly
    1-9  contested game, but the Bulldogs overcame previously unbeaten
   1-10  D'Hanis 22-20 to take the area crown; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, In a textbook example of gridiron domination,
   1-12  Bartlett devastated Flatonia 41-14, continuing its relentless march
   1-13  through the playoffs; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Facing a Runge squad that ousted Bartlett from the
   1-15  playoffs the previous year, this determined Bulldog team would not
   1-16  be denied, and although the game ended in a 13-13 tie, Bartlett
   1-17  advanced by virtue of its superior ability to penetrate its
   1-18  opponent's territory; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Another stern test awaited the Bulldogs in the state
   1-20  semifinals, but Bartlett was equal to the task, overcoming a
   1-21  spirited Valley View team 19-14, and earning a coveted spot in the
   1-22  finals; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Striving to duplicate the championship dream of the
   1-24  1990 Bulldog squad, Bartlett overcame Sudan 33-26 to win the
    2-1  coveted crown, ending its season with 14 wins, no defeats, and one
    2-2  tie; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Dedication to excellence both individually and as a
    2-4  team was a hallmark of the Bulldogs, whose members include Bryan
    2-5  Beyer, Adam Gielbunt, Eric Hintermeister, Sylvester Luna, Claude
    2-6  Mathis, Plez Atkins, Ralph Smith, Charles Crathers, Gary Gadison,
    2-7  Mike Tannehill, Jim Thaler, Joshua Beyer, Mark Watson, Lupe Ramos,
    2-8  Ronnie Luckey, Wayne Mercer, Jason Cargill, Robert Fuentes,
    2-9  Hilliard McCullough, Anthony Gonzales, Adam Jacobs, Andy Steglich,
   2-10  Edward Cortez, Kirk Heckman, Rodolfo Gonzales, Justin Cargill,
   2-11  Jason Young, and Zachary Buchhorn; and
   2-12        WHEREAS, Outstanding leadership and guidance were provided by
   2-13  head coach Terry Cron, who instilled in his charges a relentless
   2-14  desire for excellence, and he was tirelessly supported by assistant
   2-15  coaches Franklin Jones, Jerry Marshall, Mike Mayfield, Craig Agnew,
   2-16  and Trent Gregory; and
   2-17        WHEREAS, This exemplary group of young men and their coaches
   2-18  and staff have been a tremendous source of pride for the students
   2-19  and faculty at Bartlett High School and their many supporters in
   2-20  the community, and their exceptional achievements have rightfully
   2-21  earned them special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
   2-22        RESOLVED, That the 73rd Legislature of the State of Texas
   2-23  hereby congratulate head coach Terry Cron and the Bartlett High
   2-24  School Bulldogs on their superb 1992 gridiron campaign and UIL
   2-25  Class 1A football championship; and, be it further
   2-26        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
   2-27  for the members of the team and coaching staff and that a copy be
    3-1  prepared for prominent display at Bartlett High School as an
    3-2  expression of high regard by the Legislature of the State of Texas.
