No. 55 73R3941 PAN-F CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The future of Texas depends largely on its children 1-2 and the abilities with which they will be able to meet the 1-3 challenges of tomorrow; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Childhood is a special time of life; the character 1-5 and attitudes that can mark the future are often formed in the 1-6 early years of life that are spent in the school setting; and 1-7 WHEREAS, A happy and secure environment in which to learn is 1-8 essential for educating, nurturing, and encouraging the growth of 1-9 children toward a healthy, productive adulthood; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Playing an integral role in providing such an 1-11 environment for our children are the people who serve with teachers 1-12 as the backbone for the public school system in Texas, the school 1-13 secretaries, paraprofessionals, maintenance personnel, bus drivers, 1-14 food service employees, and custodians employed in our schools; and 1-15 WHEREAS, These dedicated workers contribute to the efficient 1-16 and orderly operations of our schools each day, and their valuable 1-17 contributions are indeed deserving of special recognition and 1-18 praise; now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the 73rd Legislature of the State of Texas 1-20 hereby declare the week of May 3-7, 1993, as "Paraprofessional and 1-21 School-Related Personnel Appreciation Week in Texas" and encourage 1-22 all Texans to take this opportunity to honor these exemplary public 1-23 school employees.
