H.C.R. No. 62
                              HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
    1-1        WHEREAS, The members of the Texas Legislature are proud to
    1-2  honor an outstanding teacher, Barbara B. Yarbrough, on her recent
    1-3  achievement of being named the Texas Classroom Teachers
    1-4  Association's 1992-1993 Faculty Representative of the Year; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A talented and accomplished educator at South
    1-6  Elementary School in Midland where she teaches sixth-grade English,
    1-7  Ms. Yarbrough has earned the high regard of colleagues, students,
    1-8  and the community for her exceptional skill as a classroom
    1-9  instructor and for her unfailing commitment to the teaching
   1-10  profession; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A faculty representative of the Texas Classroom
   1-12  Teachers Association (TCTA) for 23 years, Ms. Yarbrough is a highly
   1-13  active member of this professional organization that represents the
   1-14  concerns of 30,000 teachers in our state; she is an extraordinarily
   1-15  effective recruiter for TCTA, and her efforts have produced an
   1-16  outstanding 90 percent membership rate in the organization on her
   1-17  campus; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, This exceptional professional also has contributed
   1-19  her considerable leadership skills as past president of the Midland
   1-20  Classroom Teachers Association, past president of the TCTA's
   1-21  District 18 Coordinating Council, and chair of Midland Independent
   1-22  School District's communication committee; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Throughout her long and distinguished career,
   1-24  Ms. Yarbrough has adhered to high personal and professional
    2-1  standards and has demonstrated unwavering support for education and
    2-2  the teaching discipline; her efforts in this regard have benefited
    2-3  her numerous students and the many hardworking education
    2-4  professionals throughout our state, and on the occasion of her most
    2-5  recent achievement, it is indeed fitting that she receive special
    2-6  legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the 73rd Legislature of the State of Texas
    2-8  hereby congratulate Barbara B. Yarbrough on being named the Texas
    2-9  Classroom Teachers Association's Faculty Representative of the Year
   2-10  and commend her for her many outstanding contributions to the
   2-11  quality of education in our state; and, be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-13  prepared for Ms. Yarbrough as an expression of high regard by the
   2-14  Legislature of the State of Texas.
