H.C.R. No. 150
                              HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
    1-1        WHEREAS, Texas businesses play a unique and increasingly
    1-2  important role in the world economy; and
    1-3        WHEREAS, These enterprises require an efficient means to
    1-4  attract the investment capital necessary to expand, create jobs,
    1-5  and ensure that Texas remains a major international economic force;
    1-6  and
    1-7        WHEREAS, A stock exchange located in Texas would provide this
    1-8  means, enabling companies too small to meet the listing
    1-9  requirements of the national exchanges to gain access to valuable
   1-10  investment capital; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Such a stock exchange would also give brokerage
   1-12  firms too small to purchase membership on a national exchange the
   1-13  ability to trade national stocks, thereby providing Texans
   1-14  additional investment opportunities while expanding the brokerage
   1-15  job base; now, therefore, be it
   1-16        RESOLVED, That the 73rd Legislature of the State of Texas
   1-17  hereby express its support for the development and domicile in the
   1-18  State of Texas of a Texas International Stock Exchange; and, be it
   1-19  further
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the legislature declare the establishment of
   1-21  such a stock exchange to be in the public interest of the citizens
   1-22  of the State of Texas.
