No. 166 73R11606 PAN-D CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The Fourth of July is a day of celebration for all 1-2 Americans, a day on which families everywhere gather to commemorate 1-3 the birth of our nation, but for one special couple, Eric and Lisa 1-4 Glenn of Austin, the day holds even greater significance, for on 1-5 this day they will celebrate the first birthday of their beautiful 1-6 baby daughter, Riley Holden Glenn; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn both have many friends in the 1-8 Capitol; currently employed by the Texas Water Development Board, 1-9 Mrs. Glenn is a past employee of the Texas House of 1-10 Representatives, having worked for former Speaker of the House Gib 1-11 Lewis and as an assistant sergeant at arms, in which capacity she 1-12 met her future husband; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Mr. Glenn began his fine tenure with the house 1-14 during the 69th Legislature as an assistant sergeant at arms and 1-15 has since distinguished himself as a legislative assistant for 1-16 Representative Ron Wilson and as the chief clerk of the House 1-17 Committee on Liquor Regulation, the House Select Committee on 1-18 Rules, and the House Committee on Licensing and Administrative 1-19 Procedures; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Riley, who was brought into the world with the help 1-21 of Dr. Robert Casanova, has brought great joy into the lives of her 1-22 parents and other members of her doting family, which includes her 1-23 paternal grandparents, Opera Nelson of Mesquite and L. L. Turner of 1-24 Dallas; her maternal grandparents, Neil and Shirley Schaeffer of 2-1 Terrell; her great-grandparents, Lillie Mae Bell of Caldwell, 2-2 Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Turner, Sr., also of Caldwell, Thelma Mayhew, 2-3 and Eleanor Bowler of Terrell; and her devoted aunts and uncles, 2-4 Cathy Baker, Jerry and Kitty Huff, and Lee and Pam Schaeffer, all 2-5 of Terrell; and 2-6 WHEREAS, It gives the members of the Texas Legislature great 2-7 pleasure to officially announce her birth and congratulate her 2-8 parents; now, therefore, be it 2-9 RESOLVED, That the 73rd Legislature of the State of Texas 2-10 hereby officially welcome Riley Holden Glenn as a new citizen of 2-11 Texas and extend heartfelt congratulations to Eric and Lisa Glenn 2-12 on the birth of their cherished new daughter; and, be it further 2-13 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-14 prepared for Riley and her parents as an expression of high regard 2-15 by the Legislature of the State of Texas.
