                                 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Honorable Henry G. "Bud" Lehman was a
    1-2  much-respected and admired public servant who served the people of
    1-3  Lee County and the State of Texas with honor and distinction as a
    1-4  member of the Texas Legislature for 20 years; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Elected to the Texas House of Representatives in
    1-6  1937, Mr. Lehman served from the 45th Legislature to the 54th
    1-7  Legislature, leaving office in 1957; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Mr. Lehman distinguished himself as the youngest
    1-9  dean in the history of the Texas House of Representatives and as
   1-10  the member having then served the longest consecutive interval in
   1-11  that chamber; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, During his 20-year tenure, Mr. Lehman worked
   1-13  diligently to improve the rural roads of Texas and was an active
   1-14  supporter of important legislation relating to farm-to-market
   1-15  roadways; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, It is fitting that a road in Mr. Lehman's home
   1-17  county be named in his honor in recognition of his steadfast
   1-18  commitment to public service and his many contributions to the
   1-19  betterment of Texas; now, therefore, be it
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the 73rd Legislature of the State of Texas
   1-21  hereby designate U.S. Highway 290 in Lee County as the Henry G.
   1-22  "Bud" Lehman Highway; and, be it further
   1-23        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be sent to
   1-24  the Lee County Commissioners Court as a formal expression of the
    2-1  sentiment of the Legislature of the State of Texas.
