                                  A JOINT RESOLUTION
    1-1  proposing a constitutional amendment prohibiting the state from
    1-2  requiring a woman to complete a pregnancy.
    1-3        BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-4        SECTION 1.  Article I of the Texas Constitution is amended by
    1-5  adding Section 31 to read as follows:
    1-6        Sec. 31.  The state may not require a woman to complete a
    1-7  pregnancy.
    1-8        SECTION 2.  This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
    1-9  submitted to the voters at an election to be held on November 2,
   1-10  1993.  The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or
   1-11  against the proposition:  "The constitutional amendment to prohibit
   1-12  the state from requiring a woman to complete a pregnancy."
