1-20 HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
1-21 proposing a constitutional amendment to abolish the office of
1-22 county surveyor in Jackson County.
1-23 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-24 SECTION 1. Article XVI, Section 44, of the Texas
1-25 Constitution is amended by adding Subsection (h) to read as
1-26 follows:
1-27 (h) The office of County Surveyor in Jackson County is
1-28 abolished. The powers, duties, and functions of the office are
1-29 transferred to the county officer or employee designated by the
1-30 commissioners court, and the commissioners court may change its
1-31 designation as it considers appropriate.
1-32 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
1-33 submitted to the voters at an election to be held on November 2,
1-34 1993. The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or
1-35 against the proposition: "The constitutional amendment abolishing
1-36 the office of county surveyor in Jackson County."
