                                  A JOINT RESOLUTION
    1-1  proposing a constitutional amendment relating to the right of a
    1-2  crime victim to testify in all court proceedings related to the
    1-3  offense.
    1-4        BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Article I, Section 30(b), of the Texas
    1-6  Constitution is amended to read as follows:
    1-7        (b)  On the request of a crime victim, the crime victim has
    1-8  the following rights:
    1-9              (1)  the right to notification of court proceedings;
   1-10              (2)  the right to be present at all public court
   1-11  proceedings related to the offense, unless the victim is to testify
   1-12  and the court determines that the victim's testimony would be
   1-13  materially affected if the victim hears other testimony at the
   1-14  trial;
   1-15              (3)  the right to testify at all public court
   1-16  proceedings related to the offense;
   1-17              (4) <(3)>  the right to confer with a representative of
   1-18  the prosecutor's office;
   1-19              (5) <(4)>  the right to restitution; and
   1-20              (6) <(5)>  the right to information about the
   1-21  conviction, sentence, imprisonment, and release of the accused.
   1-22        SECTION 2.  This proposed amendment shall be submitted to the
   1-23  voters at an election to be held November 2, 1993.  The ballot
   1-24  shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the
    2-1  proposition:  "The constitutional amendment relating to the right
    2-2  of a crime victim to testify in all court proceedings related to
    2-3  the offense."
