                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, March 13, 1991, was indeed a special day for
    1-2  Drs. Paul V. Shelburne and J. Alison Hanson, for it marked the
    1-3  occasion of the birth of their adorable baby daughter, Sarah
    1-4  Elizabeth; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Drs. Shelburne and Hanson are currently residing in
    1-6  New Orleans, Louisiana, where Dr. Hanson is serving her country as
    1-7  a major in the United States Air Force; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Proud of their status as native Texans, the couple
    1-9  sought the help of Dr. Shelburne's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gene
   1-10  Shelburne, Jr., of Midland, who also are native Texans, to ensure
   1-11  that their daughter would be born on our state's hallowed soil and
   1-12  considered a true Texan; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, To this end, Sarah's devoted grandfather sent four
   1-14  pounds of West Texas caliche to his family, who sprinkled it under
   1-15  the labor bed just before her arrival; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, With the assistance of her beloved family, Sarah
   1-17  Elizabeth was born on Texas soil and the members of this house take
   1-18  great pleasure in officially announcing her birth; now, therefore,
   1-19  be it
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-21  Legislature hereby declare Sarah Elizabeth, blessed daughter of
   1-22  Dr. Paul V. Shelburne and Dr. J. Alison Hanson, to be a native
   1-23  Texan with all the privileges and perquisites accorded any
   1-24  full-blooded native of the Lone Star State; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-2  prepared for Sarah Elizabeth as formal proof of her new status.
