No. 43 72S40694 BNL-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Anton Independent School District had the 1-2 noteworthy distinction of being represented by two exceptional 1-3 students at the 1991-92 state University Interscholastic League 1-4 competition in literary criticism, an accomplishment that no other 1-5 school duplicated in this year's state meet; and 1-6 WHEREAS, These students brought further acclaim to their 1-7 school when both placed among the top five competitors at this 1-8 prestigious contest; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Erica Lester received the top honors in the 1-10 statewide competition, while Kenna Kiser took fifth place, and 1-11 their showings in this event reflected the long hours they 1-12 dedicated to training and practicing for this event; and 1-13 WHEREAS, The faculty and students throughout the Anton 1-14 Independent School District can be justifiably proud of the 1-15 outstanding accomplishments of Erica Lester and Kenna Kiser, as 1-16 well as of the many achievements of other students who 1-17 distinguished themselves in UIL competition at the local and 1-18 regional levels during the 1991-92 school year; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Their talent, hard work, and dedication to 1-20 excellence are surely indicative of the high standards of 1-21 achievement that have been set by their teachers and fellow 1-22 students, and many others will undoubtedly emulate their success; 1-23 now, therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 72nd Texas 2-1 Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend all of the UIL 2-2 participants in the Anton Independent School District, their 2-3 teachers, and their proud parents, and extend special 2-4 congratulations to Erica Lester and Kenna Kiser for their 2-5 remarkable showing at the state UIL literary criticism contest with 2-6 warmest best wishes for many more years of continued success; and, 2-7 be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for Ms. Lester and Ms. Kiser and for representatives of 2-10 the Anton school district as an expression of high regard by the 2-11 Texas House of Representatives.
