H.R. No. 49
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  the many fine students of the Whiteface Consolidated Independent
    1-3  School District who have ably represented their school and their
    1-4  community by their enthusiastic participation at every level of
    1-5  competition in University Interscholastic League activities; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Deserving of special recognition for her impressive
    1-7  achievements in state UIL competition is Whiteface High School
    1-8  student Dawn Stockman, whose superb performance at the state meet
    1-9  earned her third-place honors in her event; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, In the demanding calculator competition, a test not
   1-11  only of speed and accuracy but of high-level mathematic ability and
   1-12  analytical skills, Ms. Stockman displayed the deftness and poise
   1-13  that earlier in the year had allowed her to take the top honors in
   1-14  district and regional competition; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Her achievements, which are a tribute to her talent
   1-16  and dedication, also reflect the superb instruction and support
   1-17  that she and all of the students in the Whiteface Consolidated
   1-18  Independent School District receive from faculty and staff members,
   1-19  as well as the community's commitment to excellence in academic
   1-20  endeavors; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Representative of the many students who broaden
   1-22  their educational horizons by participating in UIL competition,
   1-23  Dawn Stockman has been a source of pride for the students, faculty,
   1-24  and staff at Whiteface High School, and her noteworthy
    2-1  accomplishments have brought honor and prestige to herself, to the
    2-2  school, and to the entire community; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-4  Legislature hereby commend all of the UIL participants in the
    2-5  Whiteface Independent Consolidated School District, their teachers,
    2-6  and their proud parents and extend special congratulations to Dawn
    2-7  Stockman on her outstanding performance at the 1991-1992 UIL state
    2-8  meet; and, be it further
    2-9        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
   2-10  for presentation to Ms. Stockman and to representatives of the
   2-11  Whiteface school district as an expression of high esteem by the
   2-12  Texas House of Representatives.
