                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, On May 12, 1930, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Wertie
    1-2  Loy Bass and Winnie Margaret Venable were united forever in the
    1-3  sacred bond of marriage; after 63 years, their life together stands
    1-4  as a shining example of the satisfaction that can be found in a
    1-5  life of unconditional, committed love; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The bonds that would eventually form this beautiful
    1-7  and lasting relationship began early for these two unique
    1-8  individuals; both lifetime residents of Tyler, Mr. and Mrs. Bass
    1-9  were students together at Dixie Elementary School; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, In 1944, Mr. Bass faithfully served his country as a
   1-11  member of   the United States Army in the Philippines; following
   1-12  his return to civilian life, he worked as an independent carpenter,
   1-13  earning a comfortable living for his wife and their cherished
   1-14  daughter, Billie Margaret; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, The Bass family has grown considerably over the
   1-16  years; with three granddaughters, Anquinette, Tina, and Rene, and
   1-17  four great-grandchildren, Eric, Elizabeth,  Amy, and Kristin, the
   1-18  happiness of this kind couple has been made complete; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Matrimony is perhaps the most difficult and, at the
   1-20  same time, most fulfilling human experience; the long-lasting
   1-21  marriage of these two dedicated individuals has been a source of
   1-22  joy and inspiration to the many friends and relatives of this
   1-23  fortunate pair; now, therefore, be it
   1-24        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-1  Legislature hereby congratulate Wertie Loy and Winnie Margaret
    2-2  Venable Bass on the joyous occasion of their 63rd wedding
    2-3  anniversary and extend warmest best wishes to this lovely couple
    2-4  for continued happiness in the years to come; and, be it further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-6  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bass as an expression of highest esteem
    2-7  by the Texas House of Representatives.
