                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Peggy Walicek's retirement as the district court
    1-2  clerk of Bastrop County on December 31, 1992, brought to a close an
    1-3  illustrious 20-year career of public service; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, A native of Yoakum who moved to Smithville in 1957,
    1-5  Mrs. Walicek had already distinguished herself as the CAPCO family
    1-6  planning coordinator for Bastrop, Caldwell, Fayette, and Lee
    1-7  counties when Judge C. B. Maynard asked her to fill a retiring
    1-8  district court clerk's unexpired term; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Mrs. Walicek assumed the duties and responsibilities
   1-10  of the office on November 30, 1972, and capably presided over it as
   1-11  it expanded dramatically to meet the challenges created by an
   1-12  increasingly busy court system; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Peggy Walicek's outstanding contributions over the
   1-14  past two decades have significantly benefitted the people of
   1-15  Bastrop County and the State of Texas, and her exceptional
   1-16  dedication as a public servant is indeed deserving of special
   1-17  recognition and praise; now, therefore, be it
   1-18        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-19  Legislature hereby commend Peggy Walicek on her many years of
   1-20  exemplary service and extend warmest best wishes to her and her
   1-21  beloved husband, Pete, for continued happiness in the future; and,
   1-22  be it further
   1-23        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   1-24  prepared for Mrs. Walicek as an expression of high esteem by the
    2-1  Texas House of Representatives.
