                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The death of Cecilia Cirner, of Alpine, on December
    1-2  30, 1992, at the age of 49, has brought a great loss to the many
    1-3  friends and relatives of this fine woman and former educator; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Texas, Mrs. Cirner will be
    1-5  fondly remembered as a devoted wife, a loving family member, a
    1-6  loyal friend, and an upstanding member of her community who
    1-7  demonstrated an exemplary commitment to public service; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, She was born November 8, 1943, in Marathon, and
    1-9  pursued a distinguished career in the field of education as a
   1-10  teacher in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and in El Paso and Presidio; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Deeply committed to her chosen profession,
   1-12  Mrs. Cirner also helped to shape the young minds of her community
   1-13  as the principal of Presidio Elementary School; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, An adept manager, she returned to the Presidio
   1-15  community after her retirement and, at the request of the
   1-16  superintendent of the Presidio Independent School District, worked
   1-17  for a year as an elementary school facilitator; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, In addition to her many professional
   1-19  responsibilities, Mrs. Cirner also worked to promote high standards
   1-20  of education as an active member of the Texas State Teachers
   1-21  Association; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, In recognition of the many and significant
   1-23  contributions she made throughout her career as an educator, she
   1-24  was selected to the Who's Who of American Teachers; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, During her lifetime, this exceptional woman touched
    2-2  the lives of many people and, though her presence will be deeply
    2-3  missed, her memory will endure in the minds and hearts of those who
    2-4  were privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-6  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Cecilia Cirner and
    2-7  extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:  to her
    2-8  husband, Martin Cirner; to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eulojio Baeza;
    2-9  to her three sisters, Margaret Gonzales, Anita Wilson, and Maria
   2-10  Coundt; and to the many other members of her family; and, be it
   2-11  further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
   2-13  for the members of her family and that when the Texas House of
   2-14  Representatives adjourns today, it do so in memory of Mrs. Cirner.
