                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  Department of Public Safety Trooper Richard Williams of Lampasas,
    1-3  who received the J. C. Penney Golden Rule Award on February 20,
    1-4  1992; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, This prestigious award is given to individuals in
    1-6  recognition of outstanding work in "unselfish service to others in
    1-7  the community"; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, For many years, during off-duty hours while
    1-9  maintaining a full schedule as a DPS officer, Trooper Williams has
   1-10  helped needy children in Lampasas and Lometa by organizing
   1-11  community efforts to provide them with food, clothing, school,
   1-12  study assistance, recreation, and spiritual guidance; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, This fine officer is the founder of the
   1-14  Lampasas/Lometa youth organization that is known as His Kids and
   1-15  has worked tirelessly to increase its resources and capabilities;
   1-16  and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Trooper Williams has contributed significantly to
   1-18  the betterment of the Lampasas and Lometa communities, and his
   1-19  exemplary record of dedication and hard work is a source of
   1-20  justifiable pride and inspiration to his devoted wife, Nancy, to
   1-21  his DPS colleagues, and to all Texans; now, therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 72nd Texas
   1-23  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Department of
   1-24  Public Safety Trooper Richard Williams for his exceptional
    2-1  community service and extend to him best wishes for continued
    2-2  success and happiness in the future; and, be it further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-4  prepared for this illustrious Texan as an expression of high regard
    2-5  by the Texas House of Representatives.
