H.R. No. 110 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America is a worldwide movement of 1-2 youth whose objective is to help boys and young men develop 1-3 character, citizenship, physical and mental fitness, and to 1-4 encourage community service; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The scouting program provides an invaluable 1-6 opportunity for young people to develop the skills of leadership 1-7 and self-government that are necessary for full participation in 1-8 this nation's democracy; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Traditionally, the Boy Scout councils of Texas 1-10 exercise their civic training by electing delegates to appear 1-11 before the house of representatives to deliver their "Boy Scout 1-12 Annual Report to the State"; at that time, a chosen representative 1-13 from each delegation informs the house members of the year's goals 1-14 and activities; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives warmly supports 1-16 the goals and objectives of this worthy organization, and it 1-17 welcomes the opportunity to meet these outstanding young men and to 1-18 hear from those who are leaders in their own generation; now, 1-19 therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 73rd 1-21 Legislature, That, in accordance with house rules and with the 1-22 policies and procedures of the House Committee on Administration, 1-23 the Boy Scouts of America be hereby granted permission to use the 1-24 speaker's committee room for official photographs and the chamber 2-1 of the Texas House of Representatives in the State Capitol for the 2-2 "Boy Scout Annual Report to the State," on February 13, 1993, 2-3 beginning at 9:30 a.m., provided that the house of representatives 2-4 is not in session. 2-5 is not in session. 2-6 Linebarger 2-7 H.R.
