R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The death of Roberta Jo Wenner Schroeter, on January
1-2 1, 1993, at the age of 58, has brought a great loss to the many
1-3 friends and relatives of this fine Texan; and
1-4 WHEREAS, Born in Beaumont, she was graduated from
1-5 St. Anthony's High School and went on to attend the Realtors
1-6 Institute of Texas before embarking on a fulfilling and successful
1-7 career as a real estate broker; and
1-8 WHEREAS, In recognition of her many and significant
1-9 achievements within that profession and the business community, she
1-10 was named Outstanding Young Woman of Texas by the Business and
1-11 Professional Women's Club in 1968; and
1-12 WHEREAS, Widely regarded by her colleagues and peers for her
1-13 dedication, professionalism, hard work, and keen business acumen,
1-14 she was honored as Realtor of the Year in 1975 by the
1-15 Nederland-Port Neches Board of Realtors; and
1-16 WHEREAS, Having attained a notable and solid reputation, she
1-17 retired from real estate and spent the last four and a half years
1-18 with the Davis-Schroeter Funeral Home, which is owned by her son
1-19 William; and
1-20 WHEREAS, Throughout her professional career, Mrs. Schroeter
1-21 maintained an active involvement in her community and contributed
1-22 her wealth of expertise as president of the Texas Jaycee-Ettes and
1-23 the Nederland Business and Professional Women's Club; and
1-24 WHEREAS, During her rewarding lifetime this exceptional woman
2-1 touched the lives of many people, and, though her presence will be
2-2 deeply missed, her memory will endure in the minds and hearts of
2-3 those who were privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it
2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
2-5 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Roberta Jo Wenner
2-6 Schroeter and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
2-7 family: to her husband, Bill Schroeter; to her two daughters,
2-8 Cindy Marie Boyd and Candy Marie Haynes; to her two sons, Guy
2-9 William Schroeter and William E. "Will" Schroeter, Jr.; to her four
2-10 brothers, R. A. "Sonny" Wenner, Jr., Andrew "Bubba" Wenner, Lyonell
2-11 R. Wenner, and Randy Wenner; to her two sisters, Betty Dean and
2-12 Jennifer Walker; to her 12 grandchildren; and to the other members
2-13 of her family; and, be it further
2-14 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
2-15 for the members of her family and that when the Texas House of
2-16 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Roberta Jo
2-17 Wenner Schroeter.
