H.R. No. 169
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, On March 20, 1993, at a traditional Eagle Scout
    1-2  ceremony known as the Eagle Court of Honor, Steven Pedigo of Scout
    1-3  Troop 9 in Lumberton will receive well-deserved recognition for his
    1-4  outstanding achievements in scouting when he is awarded the
    1-5  prestigious silver insignia denoting his attainment of the rank of
    1-6  Eagle Scout; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Earning the right to wear this coveted silver badge
    1-8  is a truly significant accomplishment and indeed represents the
    1-9  highest honor to which a member of the Boy Scouts of America can
   1-10  aspire; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Active in scouting since April 1990, and diligently
   1-12  working his way up through the ranks within a very short time, this
   1-13  exceptional young man has proven his worthiness of this honor by
   1-14  exemplifying scouting's highest ideals and applying the habits and
   1-15  values developed through his participation in scouting activities
   1-16  to distinguish himself in all of his endeavors; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, In addition to earning more than 50 merit badges by
   1-18  demonstrating his knowledge and mastery of skills in a wide variety
   1-19  of fields, he also has exhibited the leadership, perseverance, and
   1-20  community involvement that are the hallmark of an Eagle Scout by
   1-21  undertaking and successfully completing a noteworthy service
   1-22  project that will provide a lasting benefit to the entire
   1-23  community; and
   1-24        WHEREAS, Selflessly dedicated to the noble ideals that are
    2-1  the basis of scouting, Eagle Scout Pedigo has been a source of
    2-2  great pride for his parents, David and Marsha Pedigo, and an
    2-3  inspiration to his fellow scouts in Troop 9; it gives the members
    2-4  of this body great pleasure to join them and all his family and
    2-5  friends in bestowing special praise and recognition on this
    2-6  deserving young man; now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-8  Legislature hereby congratulate Steven Pedigo on his impressive
    2-9  achievement in attaining the lofty rank of Eagle Scout and earning
   2-10  the right to wear the silver Eagle badge; and, be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-12  prepared for Eagle Scout Pedigo as an expression of high esteem by
   2-13  the Texas House of Representatives.
