H.R. No. 173
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Farmers Insurance Group insures the lives,
    1-2  homes, automobiles, and businesses of more than a million Texans
    1-3  and is our state's second-largest writer of automobile and
    1-4  homeowner's insurance; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The excellent work of the Farmers Insurance Group
    1-6  has enabled many hardworking citizens of our state to breathe a
    1-7  little easier with the knowledge that their families and assets are
    1-8  protected in the event of misfortune; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, In addition to providing peace of mind, the Farmers
   1-10  Insurance Group employs more than 1,000 Texans in offices that
   1-11  cover the state from Beaumont to El Paso, Wichita Falls to Laredo,
   1-12  and all points in between; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, As a significant contributor to our state's economy
   1-14  and an important member of the business community, the Farmers
   1-15  Insurance Group is committed to the worthy goals of stimulating
   1-16  economic development and improving the business climate in Texas;
   1-17  and
   1-18        WHEREAS, To this end approximately 1,000 employees and agents
   1-19  of the Farmers Insurance Group are coming to Austin to meet with
   1-20  their representatives and to discuss the many vital issues of
   1-21  concern to the industry in the group's first-ever Texas Legislative
   1-22  Conference; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Through their commendable participation in the
   1-24  Farmers Legislative Action Group (FLAG) program, these dedicated
    2-1  employees are securing a strong voice in state government and ably
    2-2  taking part in the democratic process; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-4  Legislature hereby recognize February 24, 1993, as Farmers
    2-5  Insurance Group Day at the State Capitol and welcome the many
    2-6  hardworking employees and agents of the Farmers Insurance Group to
    2-7  Austin; and, be it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-9  prepared for the Farmers Legislative Action Group as an expression
   2-10  of high esteem by the Texas House of Representatives.
