                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  Harlandale Independent School District (HISD) student Laura
    1-3  Cabanilla for her recent outstanding scholastic success; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, An eighth grader at Harlandale Middle School, Laura
    1-5  attained an exceptional grade point average during the third
    1-6  six-week period, demonstrating solid self-discipline and a
    1-7  noteworthy desire to excel; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Her superb work has garnered well-deserved praise
    1-9  from her peers, teachers, family, and the Harlandale Lions Club;
   1-10  and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Recognizing the integral role education plays in
   1-12  preparing children for a fulfilling and productive life, the Lions
   1-13  Club each year honors local middle school students for their high
   1-14  academic achievement so as to share their accomplishments with the
   1-15  community and to encourage further educational attainment; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Students who earn good grades in school improve
   1-17  their chances for success in today's competitive world and acquire
   1-18  a deep sense of accomplishment and self-esteem, qualities that are
   1-19  important throughout life; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Through personal creativity, diligence, and an
   1-21  unwavering commitment to excellence, Laura has demonstrated the
   1-22  tenacity and skill to reach her fullest potential and has taken an
   1-23  important step toward a truly bright and promising future; now,
   1-24  therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-2  Legislature honor Laura Cabanilla of the Harlandale Middle School
    2-3  eighth grade for her exemplary scholastic achievement and extend to
    2-4  her best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
    2-5  further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-7  prepared for Laura Cabanilla as an expression of esteem by the
    2-8  Texas House of Representatives.
