H.R. No. 192
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Ray Altamirano, a seventh grade student at
    1-2  Harlandale Middle School in San Antonio, was recently recognized by
    1-3  the Lions Excellence in Academics Recognition Night (LEARN) program
    1-4  for his outstanding academic achievements; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Created in 1989, the prestigious program is
    1-6  sponsored by the Harlandale Lions Club and recognizes middle school
    1-7  students throughout the Harlandale Independent School District who
    1-8  have earned the highest grade point averages over a six-week
    1-9  grading period; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, In reaching this enviable standard of academic
   1-11  success, Mr. Altamirano has demonstrated his desire and ability to
   1-12  achieve his highest potential as he prepares for his future role in
   1-13  society; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, His noteworthy accomplishment serves as a source of
   1-15  inspiration to countless students across the state and as a shining
   1-16  example of the rewards that can be attained from hard work and
   1-17  self-discipline; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Mr. Altamirano has demonstrated exceptional
   1-19  intelligence, initiative, and maturity in pursuing his academic
   1-20  goals, and it is most fitting that he receive special legislative
   1-21  recognition for his noteworthy performance; now, therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-23  Legislature hereby honor Ray Altamirano for his outstanding
   1-24  academic achievements and extend to him best wishes for continued
    2-1  success in his future endeavors; and, be it further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-3  prepared for Mr. Altamirano as an expression of high regard by the
    2-4  Texas House of Representatives.
