                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Edith Contreras, an eighth grader at Leal Middle
    1-2  School in the Harlandale Independent School District, has been
    1-3  recognized by the Harlandale Lions Club for her exceptional
    1-4  scholastic performance during the second nine weeks of school; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Project LEARN, a Lions Club program that
    1-6  acknowledges middle school students who have attained the highest
    1-7  grade point averages among their classmates during each grading
    1-8  period, provides students recognition and honor to reinforce the
    1-9  many positive aspects of academic excellence; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Through hard work and determination, the young
   1-11  scholars honored in this program have demonstrated a desire to
   1-12  learn; moreover, they have realized the importance of knowledge to
   1-13  their future successes and, with wisdom and provision, have chosen
   1-14  to pursue it; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, These students are worthy of special legislative
   1-16  recognition to encourage their efforts as they continue along the
   1-17  path of excellence; now, therefore, be it
   1-18        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-19  Legislature hereby extend sincere congratulations to Leal Middle
   1-20  School eighth grade student Edith Contreras for her splendid
   1-21  academic performance and extend to her best wishes for continued
   1-22  success; and, be it further
   1-23        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   1-24  prepared for Edith Contreras as an expression of highest esteem by
    2-1  the Texas House of Representatives.
