                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The State of Texas has lost a valued citizen with
    1-2  the passing of the Honorable James Browder on January 3, 1993, at
    1-3  the age of 52; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, A native Texan, he was born July 19, 1940, in
    1-5  Livingston and was graduated from Sam Houston State University as a
    1-6  young man; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, After proudly serving his country as a member of the
    1-8  United States Marine Corps, Mr. Browder worked for child welfare in
    1-9  Coldspring from 1963 to 1965 and returned to military service as a
   1-10  captain in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, This admirable gentleman also distinguished himself
   1-12  as a respected member of the Texas House of Representatives from
   1-13  1976 to 1980 and, during that time, served the constituents of
   1-14  District 16 with the utmost integrity and distinction; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Employed by Clark Development Company from 1983 to
   1-16  1992, he was a valued employee of Barron Management Company at the
   1-17  time of his passing; in addition, Mr. Browder was a former
   1-18  president of the Bank of San Jacinto County in Coldspring; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, James Browder was a caring and courageous citizen
   1-20  who will long be remembered for his outstanding service to the
   1-21  State of Texas; though his presence will be deeply missed by all
   1-22  who knew him, his unique spirit will surely live on in the many
   1-23  accomplishments he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
   1-24        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-1  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of James Browder and
    2-2  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family:  to his wife,
    2-3  Sandra Browder; to his sons and daughter-in-law, Brad and Donna
    2-4  Browder and James Browder; to his daughters and son-in-law, Alyssa
    2-5  Browder, Loreba and George Stoddard, and Angela Kirkham; to his
    2-6  parents, James and Mildred Browder; to his brother, Kenneth
    2-7  Browder; and to his beloved grandson, Justin Browder; and, be it
    2-8  further
    2-9        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-10  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
   2-11  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-12  the Honorable James Browder.
