H.R. No. 220
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, Danya McIntyre recently completed the demanding
1-2 curriculum of the legal assistant certificate program at The
1-3 University of Texas at Austin, thus achieving a new level of
1-4 professional excellence and earning the right to demand a hefty
1-5 salary increase from her benevolent boss, State Representative
    1-6 Harvey Hilderbran; and
1-7 WHEREAS, Mrs. McIntyre's hard-earned legal expertise will now
1-8 make her even more indispensable to Mr. Hilderbran, if this is
1-9 possible, but it will probably not effect great change in the
1-10 condition of her desk; while Mrs. McIntyre takes great pride in her
1-11 organizational skills, her desk has been designated as the next
1-12 target in the ongoing Capitol restoration project, although
1-13 engineers caution that sorting through the piles on her desk may
1-14 take slightly longer--and involve more manpower--than the
1-15 excavation and construction of the Capitol Extension; and
1-16 WHEREAS, Mrs. McIntyre originally came to Mr. Hilderbran's
1-17 office four years ago to discuss water concerns with the newly
1-18 elected representative; after several months, it became apparent
1-19 that she had no intention of leaving, so Mr. Hilderbran gave her a
   1-20 job; and
1-21 WHEREAS, Once hired, this remarkable woman became an
1-22 invaluable part of the representative's staff; she never let on
1-23 that she knew more of Mr. Hilderbran's constituents than he did,
1-24 thus allowing him the comforting delusion that he was still in
    2-1 charge; and
2-2 WHEREAS, As the centripetal force holding the office
2-3 together, Mrs. McIntyre has been successful in fending off the
2-4 forces of chaos that seek to engulf all legislative offices during
2-5 each odd-numbered year, and in doing so she has created a kinder,
2-6 gentler office for Mr. Hilderbran and his staff; and
2-7 WHEREAS, Mrs. McIntyre was not content with being utterly
2-8 irreplaceable, however, so she bravely fought the notorious
2-9 University of Texas bureaucratic red tape to successfully enroll in
2-10 the legal assistant certificate program; and
2-11 WHEREAS, Once enrolled, she proved to be an intelligent and
2-12 industrious scholar who impressed instructors and students alike as
2-13 she mastered such difficult subjects as litigation, torts, business
2-14 law, and legal writing; her friends and coworkers were not
2-15 surprised, however, as they expected no less than unqualified
2-16 success from such an outstanding individual; and
2-17 WHEREAS, In the four years that she has served as an
2-18 administrative assistant to Representative Harvey Hilderbran, Danya
2-19 McIntyre has become a valued friend and highly regarded mentor to
2-20 her colleagues, and they take great pride in her most recent
2-21 accomplishment, as they have in each of her other successes; Danya
2-22 McIntyre's sparkling wit, smiling face, and warm personality have
   2-23 made her a much-loved and much-appreciated member of
2-24 Mr. Hilderbran's legislative team, and all of the people in that
2-25 office look forward to working with her for many more years to
2-26 come; now, therefore, be it
2-27 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
3-1 Legislature hereby honor Danya McIntyre for her recent educational
3-2 achievement and for her exceptional service to the legislative
3-3 process and extend to her warmest best wishes for many more years
3-4 of continued success and happiness; and, be it further
3-5 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3-6 prepared for Mrs. McIntyre as an expression of high regard by the
    3-7 Texas House of Representatives.
3-8 prepared for Mrs. McIntyre as an expression of high regard by the
    3-9 Texas House of Representatives.
