H.R. No. 300
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Elton Hubenak retired as manager of the Woodson
    1-2  Lumber Company on December 31, 1992, drawing to a close nearly four
    1-3  decades of outstanding service to his local community; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of the small town of Snook in
    1-5  rural Burleson County, Mr. Hubenak has enjoyed building and working
    1-6  with wood since he was a young boy, and in high school, honed his
    1-7  carpentry skills constructing barns and houses with his uncle; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Mr. Hubenak
    1-9  worked at farming and ranching before joining the Woodson Lumber
   1-10  Company at the age of 24; raised to appreciate the land, he
   1-11  maintains an avid interest in agriculture and plans to devote more
   1-12  time to his cow and calf operation with his retirement from the
   1-13  lumber company; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Originally hired as a clerk at Woodson Lumber, he
   1-15  assumed his ever-increasing responsibilities at the company over
   1-16  the years with characteristic enthusiasm and competence; as
   1-17  manager, he has enjoyed a successful and rewarding tenure presiding
   1-18  over this popular company where his father was once a customer and
   1-19  which has become a familiar fixture on the local scene; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Hubenak is looking forward
   1-21  to spending more time with his wife, Betty, and their large and
   1-22  loving family, which has grown to include seven grandchildren; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, An exceptionally hardworking, knowledgeable, and
   1-24  well-liked individual, this remarkable man has earned the lasting
    2-1  respect and friendship of his many friends, customers, and
    2-2  coworkers and is a cherished member of this close-knit community;
    2-3  on the occasion of his retirement, it is indeed fitting that he
    2-4  receive special legislative recognition for his many contributions
    2-5  to others during his long career; now, therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-7  Legislature hereby commend Elton Hubenak for his outstanding
    2-8  38-year tenure with the Woodson Lumber Company and extend best
    2-9  wishes for his continued success and happiness in retirement; and,
   2-10  be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-12  prepared for him as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
   2-13  of Representatives.
