No. 310 73R3028 PAN-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Peggy Seigle has been named the 1993 chairman of the 1-2 board of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce, and this 1-3 special recognition is indeed well deserved; and 1-4 WHEREAS, An administrator and legal assistant for George 1-5 W. Wilhite & Associates for the past 27 years, Ms. Seigle brings to 1-6 her new position a wealth of experience gained over the course of 1-7 her professional career; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Ms. Seigle is a native Texan who has long played an 1-9 active role in making Northwest Houston a nicer place in which to 1-10 work and live; she has a strong chamber background, having shared 1-11 her considerable leadership skills with the organization on its 1-12 executive committee as treasurer, special projects chair, and 1-13 membership chair and as director for several terms; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Touted for her legendary chamber membership 1-15 acquisition skills, this remarkable woman was recognized in 1983 1-16 for being the top membership recruiter in the entire United States 1-17 and was honored on three additional occasions for her outstanding 1-18 abilities in this regard; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Ms. Seigle also is a former chamber citizen of the 1-20 year and is the only woman in Texas to have been appointed as a 1-21 contract chaplain to an all-male maximum security facility within 1-22 the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, a position which she held 1-23 for three years; and 1-24 WHEREAS, A dedicated volunteer as well, Ms. Seigle has given 2-1 generously of her time and talents to benefit numerous worthy 2-2 organizations in her community, including the Performing Arts 2-3 League, the American Heart Association, and the Business and 2-4 Industry Council-North Harris Montgomery Community College 2-5 District; and 2-6 WHEREAS, Her many talents and abilities were recently 2-7 acknowledged when she earned a listing in 2000 Notable American 2-8 Women and she also has been honored by People Scene newspaper for 2-9 her achievements as a community leader; and 2-10 WHEREAS, The mother of two fine children, John and Suzanne, 2-11 Ms. Seigle also is a devoted grandmother who enjoys spending time 2-12 with her beloved grandchildren, Emily, David, Joseph, and Lauren; 2-13 and 2-14 WHEREAS, Peggy Seigle has made many significant contributions 2-15 to the betterment of her community and she is indeed deserving of 2-16 special legislative recognition on the occasion of her latest 2-17 achievement; now, therefore, be it 2-18 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 2-19 Legislature hereby congratulate Peggy Seigle on being named the 2-20 1993 chairman of the board of the Houston Northwest Chamber of 2-21 Commerce and extend warmest best wishes to her for continued 2-22 happiness and success in the future; and, be it further 2-23 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-24 prepared for Ms. Seigle as an expression of high regard by the 2-25 Texas House of Representatives.
