H.R. No. 313
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The many friends and relatives of Sean Patrick
    1-2  Cooper were deeply saddened by the tragic death of this fine young
    1-3  man on November 6, 1992, at the age of 17; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, The son of Arthur and Julia Cooper, he was an
    1-5  outgoing member of the junior class at Berkner High School, where
    1-6  he was regarded with great affection and respect by his peers; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Having participated in athletics throughout his
    1-8  lifetime, he played baseball and soccer as a young boy, was a
    1-9  talented defensive end for the Apollo Panthers football team, and
   1-10  in recent years enjoyed golf and playing club basketball on
   1-11  weekends; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Active in scouting as well, he was an Indian Guide,
   1-13  Cub Scout, and Boy Scout who attained the rank of Star, went on
   1-14  High Adventure camping trips in Texas, the Rocky Mountains, and the
   1-15  Grand Tetons, and attended the NASA Space Camp in Huntsville,
   1-16  Alabama; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, He also demonstrated great initiative and enterprise
   1-18  when he started his own lawn care service, "A Cut Above," and
   1-19  worked diligently through the hot summer to earn the funds he
   1-20  needed to buy a car and finance his college education; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Sean Cooper was an intelligent, responsible young
   1-22  man who faced a future bright with promise; though his presence
   1-23  will be deeply missed, his memory will long endure in the hearts of
   1-24  the many people whose lives he touched during his time on this
    2-1  earth; now, therefore, be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives hereby pay
    2-3  tribute to the life of Sean Patrick Cooper and extend profound
    2-4  sympathy to his parents, Arthur and Julia Cooper, to his siblings,
    2-5  Rebecca and Mark Cooper, and to the many other friends and
    2-6  relatives of this much-loved young man; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-8  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
    2-9  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-10  Sean Patrick Cooper.
